Crypto exchange Crypto.com has made another splash in the world of sports partnerships, announcing that it will be an official sponsor of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Here’s what we know:

  • The FIFA association said that Crypto.com’s branding will appear both inside and outside of stadiums for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 scheduled to begin in November. The crypto exchange will provide opportunities for its users to attend matches and win official merchandise as part of the sponsorship.
  • According to FIFA chief commercial officer Kay Madati, the deal will help grow the games “on a global scale,” citing Crypto.com’s partnerships with other entities around the world.
  • Madati noted that “there is no platform bigger…than FIFA’s global platform of football.” FIFA reported that more than 3.5 billion people viewed the previous FIFA World Cup in 2018, making the sponsorship deal one that will be highly visible across the entire world.
  • Crypto.com is currently the third-largest exchange by trading volume, reporting a volume of $3.8 billion over the past 24 hours. It claims to serve over 10 million customers worldwide.
