The England Central Bank’s Deputy Governor for financial stability, Jon Cunliffe, said: “There are well-founded concerns around unbacked crypto assets in relation to investor protection, market integrity and financial crime.”
The industry stalwarts likened the current hype around cryptocurrency to that of the dotcom bubble in the 1990s and asked the investors to be cautiously optimistic when putting their money into the same.
Whilst expanding its global reach, the company itself and its day-to-day operations will continue to be domiciled in global finance hub Tallinn, Estonia.
Stating that his views are different from those of the bank and its board, Dimon said he remains skeptical.
