Bitcoin exchange BitMEX invests in HK blockchain firm FinFabrik

Hong Kong-based blockchain startup FinFabrik has received an undisclosed investment from BitMEX Ventures, an investment arm of BitMEX, a Hong Kong bitcoin exchange, as part of FinFabrik’s seed funding round.

FinFabrik specializes in capital markets software for the digital and crypto assets industry.

The company, founded by Alex Medana and  Florian Mathaeus Spiegl, said that the latest funding will be used to expand its technology platform to drive innovative new products based on digital assets for institutional clients.

“Our team is focused on creating solutions that enable owners to deploy their assets and liabilities,” said Alex Medana, FinFabrik co-founder and chief executive. “Owners may digitize and fractionalize their tangible and intangible assets, raise capital, and reach investors in a frictionless manner using FinFabrik’s proprietary blockchain and machine learning technologies.”

BitMEX, founded by Arthur Hayes and Ben Delo, launched BitMEX Ventures in late 2018 to invests in crypto startups. Its portfolio includes Blockfolio, in which BitMEX participated in a $11.5 million Series A round.
